Continuous Flow Synthesis of N-Doped Carbon Quantum Dots for Total Phenol Content Detection

The carbon quantum dot (CQD) paper-based analytical device (PAD) has drawn great attention and is being intensively explored. However, the construction of a continuous flow CQD synthesis remains challenging. In this work, reaction apparatus was constructed to synthesize nitrogen-doped CQDs using mixed-solvent system tetraethylene glycol water. optical properties were characterized. found be quenched by phenolics such as chlorogenic acid, salvianolic acid B, rutin. PAD prepared for determination total phenolic content honeysuckle extracts. A smartphone used test performance PAD. results demonstrated that degree fluorescence quenching showed linear relationship with concentration added solution. This method compared assay in Chinese Pharmacopoeia, statistical no significant difference between their results. With aqueous solvent synthesis, reactor preparation could easily set up. convenient, cheap, expected rapid quality detection traditional medicines.
